Update of October 3 Regarding Corona Virus Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 84,570 after additional 2,120 new cases detected positive in Nepal on October 3, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 62,740 have been discharged after recovery. On October 3, the rate of recovery reached 74.2% along with the 2,044 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 21,302 people are being treated out of which 217 are being treated in ICU and 31 are under the treatment of ventilator. Till now, the death toll has reached 528. According to the Ministry, 12,978 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.
In Province 2,
According to Siraha Representative Durga Pariyar, a 55-year-old man from Sukhipur Municipality-2 died of COVID-19 infection in Biratnagar on October 2 while undergoing treatment. He was admitted to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar on September 28 for treatment. He died in an ambulance while being taken to Isolation Hospital for further treatment.
In Bagmati Province,
On October 3, the number of COVID-19 positive cases diagnosed in the province are as follows 1,001 in Kathmandu, 109 in Lalitpur, 75 in Chitwan, 67 in Bhaktapur, 11 in Kavrepalanchok, 8/8 in Dhading and Nuwakot, 6/6 in Makwanpur and Ramechhap, 3/3 in Sindhuli and Dolakha and 2 in Sindhupalchowk. With the confirmation of 1,299 COVID-positive people, the number of those infected in the province has reached 33,796. Of them, 19,656 have recovered after treatment while 13,937 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals and isolation centres. Today, six more people have been confirmed dead and the number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection in the province has reached 203.
In Gandaki Province,
According to Nawalparasi (East of Bardaghat Susta) representative Tirtha Raj Dumre, a 36-year-old man of Binai Triveni rural municipality died on October 3 due to COVID-19 infection. He was admitted to the ICU of Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan for treatment on September 29 after he was diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. According to the hospital, he died while undergoing treatment.
