Update of November 28 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 230,723 after additional 1,380 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on November 28, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 211,186 have recovered. On November 28, the rate of recovery reached 91.5% along with the 515 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 18,086 people are being treated. Out of which, 12,546 are in home isolation, 325 are being treated in ICU, and 50 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,454. According to the Ministry, 9,368 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Manang and Dolpa while Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

In Gandaki Province

According to Baglung Representative Sirjana Pant, it has been decided to stop all services of the Jaimini municipality for four days with effect from November 28 after an employee of the municipality was diagnosed positive. The municipality has been closed for contact tracing, said Health Branch Chief Govinda Acharya.

In Sudur Paschim Province

According to Baitadi representative Nari Badu, the Dasharathchanda municipality has been closed for 10 days from November 28. Deputy Chief of Dasharathchanda Municipality, Mina Chand, said that the decision of the meeting of the Municipal Executive Committee held on November 27 has been postponed till December 7. She said that 18 people were actively infected in the municipal area and the lockdown was carried out as the risk of corona infection was increasing in the area.
