Update of June 3 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 576,936 after additional 5,825 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on June 3, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 467,467 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 81% along with the 5,904 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 18,562 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on June 3, 31% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.6% people diagnosed positive till now. On June 3, 496 people below the age of 19 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.
Till now, the death toll has reached 7,630 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 75 people died on June 3. There are 101,839 in isolation. There are more than 500 active cases in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Rautahat, Dhanusha, Parsa, Mahottari, Bara, Saptari, Siraha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kavrepalanchowk, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Gorkha, Tanahu, Syangja, Myagdi, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Palpa, Bardiya, Kapilbastu, Arghakhanchi, Nawalparasi West, Surkhet, Salyan, Dailekh, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, Doti and Achham.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 75 districts have been following complete or partial prohibition till June 3, 2021, no further information have been received later.
In Province 1,
In Morang, the Biratnagar High Court has ordered to provide relief to the needy within 24 hours. The province government and Biratnagar Metropolitan City have been ordered to provide relief to the needy citizens within 24 hours. The order was passed by a joint bench of Chief Justice Til Prasad Shrestha and Justice Rajan Prasad Bhattarai while hearing the writ petition filed by advocate Binod Sahal and others.
According to the Disaster Management Act 2075 of the provincial government, it was demanded that the pandemic should be included in the definition of disaster and necessary materials should be distributed to the affected people. The court has ordered to provide relief to those who come to request immediate relief materials within 24 hours. In Saptari, the Kanchanrup municipality area, which has been sealed since June 3 after the infection of Covid-19 was not brought under control and has been re-sealed for one week from June 3. According to Nawaraj Khadka, Acting Administrative Officer, Kanchanrup Municipality has been sealed for the second wave of Covid-19 among the locals. In Siraha, a meeting of the district-level COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) held on June 3 has extended the prohibitory order from June 4 to June 14.
In Gandaki Province,
In Kaski, the period of prohibitory order has been extended till June 14, 2021.
In Syangja, the non-health services of the municipality have been suspended till June 25 after the Covid infection was confirmed in nine employees of the municipality.
In Lumbini Province,
In Bardiya, the local administration has issued a prohibitory order for the control and prevention of Covid-19 till June 14. The district administration office has opened shops and financial institutions. Chief District Officer Santa Bahadur Sunar said that the shops will be open from 7 am to 11 am for the purchase of daily necessities. In Rupendehi, a meeting of the District Administration Office held on June 3 changed the format of the prohibition order and extended the prohibition order till June 14.
In Karnali Province,
In Humla, a 55-year-old man of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-2, who was diagnosed with covid infection a week ago, died on June 3 while being brought to the district headquarters for further treatment. Rudra Bahadur Shahi, chief administrative officer of Sarkegard village, said that he died on the way to Simkot on horseback as he could not arrange a helicopter due to lack of funds.
