Update of January 30 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 270,854 after additional 109 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 30, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 266,048 of the total infected have recovered. On January 30, the rate of recovery reached 98.2% along with the 350 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 2,779 people are being treated. Out of which 1,935 are in home isolation, 144 are being treated in ICU, and 25 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,027. According to the Ministry, 3,618 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
