Update of January 28 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 270,588 after additional 213 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 28, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 265,365 of the total infected have recovered. On January 28, the rate of recovery reached 98.1% along with the 296 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 3,203 people are being treated. Out of which 2,242 are in home isolation, 146 are being treated in ICU, and 26 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,020 and there were no deaths in January 28. According to the Ministry, 3,791 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
