Update of January 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 269,180 after additional 232 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 23, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 263,734 of the total infected have recovered. On January 23, the rate of recovery reached 97.9% along with the 386 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 3,452 people are being treated. Out of which 2,674 are in home isolation, 147 are being treated in ICU, and 26 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,994. According to the Ministry, 3,541 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
