Update of January 22 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 268,984 after additional 302 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 22, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 263,348 of the total infected have recovered. On January 22, the rate of recovery reached 97.9% along with the 480 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 3,614 people are being treated. Out of which 2,735 are in home isolation, 154 are being treated in ICU, and 31 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,986. According to the Ministry, 3,545 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Bhojpur, Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
