Update of January 20 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 268,310 after additional 318 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 20, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 262,642 of the total infected have recovered. On January 20, the rate of recovery reached 97.9% along with the 383 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 3,693 people are being treated. Out of which 2,864 are in home isolation, 165 are being treated in ICU, and 33 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,975. According to the Ministry, 5,012 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
