Update of January 15 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 266,816 after additional 270 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 15, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 260,567 of the total infected have recovered. On January 15, the rate of recovery reached 97.7% along with the 390 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 4,301 people are being treated. Out of which 3,307 are in home isolation, 165 are being treated in ICU, and 38 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,948. According to the Ministry, 3,084 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
