Update of January 14 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 266,546 after additional 403 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 14, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 260,177 of the total infected have recovered. On January 14, the rate of recovery reached 97.6% along with the 405 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 4,426 people are being treated. Out of which 3,302 are in home isolation, 152 are being treated in ICU, and 33 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,943. According to the Ministry, 5,032 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases Rukum West, Kalikot, Bajura, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
