Update of January 10 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 264,780 after additional 259 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 10, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 258,441 of the total infected have recovered. On January 10, the rate of recovery reached 97.6% along with the 513 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 4,422 people are being treated. Out of which 1,179 are in home isolation, 191 are being treated in ICU, and 44 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,917. According to the Ministry, 4,286 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Taplejung, Solukhumbu, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
