Update of February 8 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 272,055 after additional 130 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 8, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 268,266 of the total infected have recovered. On February 8, the rate of recovery reached 98.6% along with the 194 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 1,744 people are being treated. Out of which 846 are in home isolation, 63 are being treated in ICU, and 17 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,045. on February 8, According to the Ministry, 3,333 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
