Update of February 18 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 273,166 after additional 96 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 18, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 269,505 of the total infected have recovered. On February 18, the rate of recovery reached 98.7% along with the 111 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 1,603 people are being treated. Out of which 551 are in home isolation, 61 are being treated in ICU, and 13 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,058. According to the Ministry, 3,541 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Rukum West, Mugu and Achham while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
