Update of February 1 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 271,178 after additional 159 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 1, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 266,600 of the total infected have recovered. On February 1, the rate of recovery reached 98.3% along with the 264 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 2,489 people are being treated. Out of which 1,647 are in home isolation, 128 are being treated in ICU, and 22 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,029 and there were no deaths in February 1. According to the Ministry, 4,145 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Bhojpur, Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
