Update of December 9 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 244,433 after additional 1,056 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 9, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 230,537 of the total infected have recovered. On December 9, the rate of recovery reached 94.3% along with the 1,483 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 12,245 people are being treated. Out of which, 7,609 are in home isolation, 330 are being treated in ICU, and 57 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,651. According to the Ministry, 6,286 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Manang and Dolpa while Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.
