Update of December 31 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 260,593 after additional 534 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 31, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 252,359 of the total infected have recovered. On December 31, the rate of recovery reached 96.8% along with the 447 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 6,378 people are being treated. Out of which 2,872 are in home isolation, 236 are being treated in ICU, and 36 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,856. According to the Ministry, 6,000 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Mahottari, Mugu, and Rukum West while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
