Update of April 30 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 323,187 after additional 5,657 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on April 30, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 281,095 of the total infected have recovered and the rate of recovery has reached 86.9% along with the 928 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 15,391 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on April 30, 37% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 13% people diagnosed positive till now. On April 30, 498 people below the age of 19 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.

Till now, the death toll has reached 3,279. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 33 people died on April 30. There are 38,813 in isolation. There are more than 500 active cases in Morang, Parsa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kaski, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Surkhet and Kailali.

According to Kathmandu Representative Bimala Paudel, the Government has informed that it will not be able to provide beds due to the rapid increase in the cases of COVID-19. The Ministry of Health and Population released a public appeal on April 30, in which they requested the public to be serious about the spread of this disease. In the appeal published by Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari, he has requested to follow all the public health standards. The Ministry has requested the public of 22 districts including Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Parsa, Bara, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Dang, Banke, and Kapilbastu to remain aware.
