Update of 8 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

In the past 24 hours, 255 additional cases have been diagnosed for corona virus infection nationwide. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam, total 16,423 people have suffered from the infection till date out of which 8,636 are being treated, 7,752 have been discharged after recovery, and 35 have died.

Provincial Reports

In Province 1, additional 17 cases were diagnosed on 8 July 2020 and with this, there are total 702 infected till date. On 8 July, 49 were discharged after recovery. Now, the total number of discharged have reached 528.

In Province 2, seven additional cases were diagnosed on 8 July 2020 and with this there are 3,761 COVID-19 patients diagnosed till date, out of which 2,240 have been discharged after recovery.

According to the District Representative of Dhanusha, Dipendra Prasad Singh, additional five days have been given to the investigation committee delegated for working on the case of Raju Sada of Hansapur Municipality-7. According to coordinator Baittha, the committee has monitored Sada’s house and the quarantine he was kept at and the provincial hospital is studying the documents related to his death.

In Bagmati Province, additional cases have been diagnosed in different district out of which, Kathmandu has 17, Lalitpur has six and other districts have 13 newly infected COVID-19 patients. With this, there are now 707 infected people in the province out of which 261 have been discharged after recovery.

In Gandaki Province, on 8 July additional 16 cases were diagnosed and with this, there are 1,129 infected out of which 353 have been discharged after recovery.

In Province 5, till 8 July there are 4,024 infected people out of whom 2,296 have been discharged after recovery and 10 have died.

In Karnali Province, till 8 July there are 1,624 infected people out of whom 1,238 have been discharged after recovery and four have died.

In Sudur Paschim Province, till 8 July there are 3,871 infected people out of whom 938 have been discharged after recovery and six have died.
