Update Of 7 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

In the past 24 hours 204 additional cases of corona virus infection have been diagnosed nationwide. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Jageshwor Yadav, till date there have been 16,168 infected people in the country. According to him, there are 8,634 people being treated, 7,499 discharged after recovery and 35 have died till date. , Till date, there are 249 infected senior citizens above the age of 61 and there are 602 corona infected children below the age of 10.

Provincial Reports

In Province 1, additional 23 cases were diagnosed on 7 July 2020. Now, there are 685 infected people out of which 479 have been discharged after recovery.

In Province 2, additional 17 cases have been diagnosed on 7 July 2020. Till date, 2,212 have been discharged after recovery.

According to the District Representative of Dhanusha, Dipendra Prasad Singh, due to the internal dispute between Ram Binaya Sah, Acting Director of the Provincial Public Health Laboratory and the health workers of the laboratory, corona test has stopped from 7 July. The provincial government had spent around six million rupees in installing the Real Time PCR machine and it has tested more than 4,500 swabs till date. According to Bijay Jha, officer of the Province Health Directorate, collection of swabs will continue even if the test stops. Regarding this, Ram Binaya Sah, Acting Director of the Provincial Public Health Laboratory says, due to lack of cooperation of the health-workers, the testing had to be stopped. He said, main reason behind the dispute was the denial of the accountant Amardip Mahato and lab assistant Jugal Yadav in purchasing materials from others except the reagents sent by federal government. Sah added that he was pressured not to take any action on those going against the work discipline by the Personal Assistant of the Chief Minister. Accountant of the lab, Amardip Mahato says the dispute started after Sah denied paying form the completed works.

In Bagmati Province, additional 34 cases were diagnosed accordingly: Kathmandu: 14, Lalitpur: 10, Bhaktapur: 4 and other districts: 6, with this, there are 671 people infected in this province, till date and out of those, 243 have been discharged after recovery and six have died.

According to the District Representative of Sindhupalchowk, Nati Babu Dhital, a 57-year-old employee of the District Prison was diagnosed with corona virus after which the Chautara Prison has been sealed.

In Gandaki Province, INSEC Gandaki provided health equipment to Putalibazaar Municipality of Syangja on 7 July 2020. They handed over two thermal guns, 500 masks and two liters sanitizer to the Mayor Seema Chhetri.

In Karnali Province,

According to the District Representative of Salyan, Mina Budathoki, health equipment like sanitizer, surgical masks and gloves were provided to Bangad Kupinde municipality by INSEC on 7 July 2020. This municipality is the most effected municipality of Salyan District.

According to the District Representative of Jajarkot, Dinesh Kumar Shrestha, health equipment like sanitizer, surgical masks and soaps were given to the ward chairperson of Chhedagad municipality-1 by INSEC on 7 July 2020 and these health equipment are for the people staying in the quarantine of Chhedgad.

In Sudur Paschim Province,

According to the District Representative of Baitadi, Nari Badu, the infected ones of different isolations were sent back home after they did not show any visible symptoms. This has increased risks in the region. Out of 293 infected in the district, 203 were sent back to stay home isolation.
