Update of 22 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

Till date 18,094 people have been diagnosed with corona virus infection nationwide. According to the press statement released by the Ministry of Health and Population, 12,684 have been discharged from the hospital after treatment and 5,368 are being treated. Due to the disease, 42 have died. Out of the total infected, 70.1% have recovered. On 22 July, additional 100 cases have been diagnosed and 207 have been discharged.

Provincial Report

In Province 1,

According to the District Representative of Morang Netra Prasad Adhikari, a 50-year-old corona infected man sent for the treatment at Koshi Hospital was missing on 22 July 2020. He was diagnosed with corona on 21 July 2020. Province Police Office of Biratnagar was sealed after a police man was diagnosed with corona virus.

In Province 2,

According to the District Representative of Saptari, Manohar Kumar Pokharel, due to the community spread of corona virus infection in Rajbiraj, prohibition was implemented. The decision was taken by the meeting of District Security Committee.

According to the District Representative of Rautahat, Kopila Timalsina, all the borders of Rautahat will be closed till 16 August 2020.

In Bagmati Province, a 46-year-old Chinese woman lost her life on 23 July at TU Teaching Hospital. She was brought from Pokhara to Kathmandu’s Grande Hospital for treatment. She was tested positive for COVID.
