Update of 21 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

The government of Nepal has ended lockdown from 21 July 2020. According to the press statement released by the Ministry of Health and Population, 12,477 have been discharged from the hospital after treatment and 5,477 are being treated. Due to the disease, 40 have died. Out of the total infected, 69.3% have recovered.

Provincial Reports

In Province 2,

According to the District Representative of Saptari, Manohar Kumar Pokharel, to control the spread of corona virus infection, Rajbiraj municipality has decided to implement complete lockdown.

In Bagmati Province,

According to the District Representative of Chitwan, Dipendra Adhikari, none of the health workers working at Bharatpur Hospital and Bharatpur Corona Special Hospital have received any Risk Allowance for working in frontline with the corona patients. According to the Risk Allowance Management Order 2077, the frontline workers are entitled to receive 50 to 100 percent of their initial salary scale as an allowance. The health workers haven’t even got a single day off.
