Update of 21 April Regarding Corona Virus Infection
In a test conducted in Kathmandu, there were three detected with the virus while 11 were detected in Sunsari. According to the Assistant Spokesperson of the Ministry, Sameer Kumar Adhikari, there are nine men and two women infected. This makes it 42 infected people in the country. In the entire country, there are 36,719 people tested by PCR and RDT. There are 7,067 people in quarantine and 107 people in isolation. Meanwhile, the Ministry has declared not to group in religious places for worshipping. There are 14 hospitals with PCR technology; two of them are in Kathmandu.
Provincial Reports
In Province 1, 22 people are suffering from coronavirus. Till 20 April 13 people were suffering from it and on 21 April nine more were added. Eight of the samples were tested at Koshi Hospital and resulted positive. One of the sample collected by the Nepal Army resulted positive. Other reports of the samples taken by the Nepal Army are pending. Till 21 April 3,775 were tested through PCR and RDT. In the tests conducted in Province 1, 448 resulted negative. Out of them, 209 reports are pending. Province 1 has the quarantine capacity of 4,571. There are 102 women and 880 men. Two of them were discharged. There are 27 in isolation and eight of them were discharged. There are 4,481 in-home quarantine. On 21 April, 11 Indians were found in Itahari Sub Metropolitan-20. They were found in the Charkoshe Jhadi.
In Province 2, till 21 April, 609 swabs have been tested and 590 were tested negative while four were positive. Out of the 15 reports are pending. Also, RDT has tested 3,447 people in which seven tested positive. Later, all of them tested negative through PCR. 1,204 people are living in quarantine in this province. There are 227 isolation beds in this province and 15 of them are being treated in it. Birgunj Metropolitan-10, also considered as the most prosperous ward of the metropolitan city has demanded relief for 2,500 households.
In Bagmati Province, rescue of the pedestrians is ongoing. People stuck in different parts of Dolakha were rescued and sent back. On 21 April, 55 people heading towards Dang from Kathmandu were rescued and sent back. Twenty-seven labourers stranded were rescued by Kavre PABSON. Likewise, 700 people walking from Kathmandu to Sindhuli were also rescued from Banepa.
In Gandaki Province, District Police Office was handed over with an automatic sanitizing tunnel by Pokhara Metropolitan. Rupa rural municipality has distributed a minimum of 40 free vegetable seeds to each household and has also initiated visiting the household for check-up. From 21 April, vehicles entering Gandaki Province are being sanitized at Aabukhaireni.

In Province 5, the local and provincial level is working in maintaining supply of food-grain. Till date, no corona patients have been found in this province. Till 21 April 767 RDT has been conducted and all of them resulted negative. The detainees to be presented in the court should have a compulsory corona test.
In Karnali Province, the authorities have instructed not to distribute expired salt. There is a crisis of regular medicines. The CDO has informed about managing pass for the medicine suppliers to fetch medicines.
In Sudur Paschim Province, in National Human Rights Commission’s coordination, a committee formed for monitoring the human rights had a meeting where they discussed on different decisions being taken for controlling the pandemic, informed INSEC Province Coordinator Khadka Raj Joshi.
