Update of 16 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

In Nepal, till 16 July, 17,344 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 11,249 people have been discharged after treatment, 6,056 are being treated and 39 have died till date due to the disease. In the past 24 Hours, 4,981 PCR have been conducted, out of which 167 were tested positive.

Provincial Reports

In Province 1,

According to the District Representative of Morang, Netra Prasad Adhikari, the Provincial Government has decided to conduct corona test in the community level as well. Previously, corona infection was diagnosed only inside the quarantine and no cases were found in the community but, the Provincial Government is preparing to conduct a test in the community level as well.

In Province 2,

According to the District Representative of Rautahat, Kopila Timilsina, a 36-year-old coronavirus patient lost his life on 15 July during treatment at Narayani Hospital Birgunj. He was working at India’s Banglore and had returned to Nepal on 8 July 2020. His dead body was managed by the team led by Colonel Samata Dhwaj Khand on 16 July 2020. This is the second death in the district due to coronavirus infection.
