Update of 1 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

In the past 24 hours 482 people were diagnosed with corona virus infection and with this there are 14,046 people suffering from the infection, informed the spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwor Gautam. On 1 July, 117 females and 365 males were diagnosed with this disease. Out of the total infected, there are 1,774 females and 12,272, informed the ministry. Out of the total infected 30 have died and 3,656 have been discharged after recovery. According to the MInistry, there were 2,061 infected below the age of 18.

Provincial Reports

In Province 1, on 1 July, additional 26 cases were diagnosed and with this there are 604 infected. Till date, 400 have been discharged after recovery in the province.

In Province 2, on 1 July, additional 53 cases have been diagnosed in this province. There are 3,492 people suffering from the disease in this province and out of them, 1,867 people have been discharged after recovery.

According to the District Representative of Siraha, Durga Pariyar, the people staying in the quarantine of the Basic School of Lahan Municipality-12, protested due to intolerable heat they had to experience living under the aluminum roof. They had been staying in the quarantine from the past 15 to 20 days but their swabs have not been collected yet, informed a person staying in quarantine. There are 40 of them with one woman. According to the chief of Health Department of Lahan Municipality, Ram Sundar Yadav, there is management of fan for them yet it is natural problem. He added that their swabs will be collected by 3 July 2020.

According to the District Representative of Rautahat, Kopila Timalsina, since the swabs of those five employees of the District Health Office resulted differently in two different labs, their samples have been sent to the Central Laboratory of Teku. Therefore, further decisions will be made on the basis of the result of that laboratory. On 29 June 2020, four employees of the District Health Office and one employee of a non-governmental organization were diagnosed with corona but again they were retested at Hetauda and their reports were negative.

In Bagmati Province, on 1 July 25 additional cases were diagnosed and with this there are 453 people suffering from the disease. Out of them, 185 have been discharged after recovery and five have died due to the disease.

According to the District Representative of Sindhupalchowk, Nati Babu Dhital, a prisoner of the District Prison of Chautara was diagnosed with corona virus infection. The diagnosed is a 70-year-old man. After which all the prisoners are being prepared for PCR test.

In Gandaki Province, on 1 July, 14 people were diagnosed with the disease. With this, there are 1,006 people suffering from the disease in this province, out of which, 287 have been discharged.

In Province 5,

According to the District Representative of Rolpa, Harisara Gharti, a 34-year-old man staying in the quarantine of Gangadev rural municipality-5’s quarantine committed suicide inside the quarantine, informed the press advisor of the rural municipality, Ashok Kumar Oli. He had returned from Dubai on 18 June 2020 and joined the quarantine. His swab will be sent for test. A team from Area Police Office have been delegated for investigation regarding the case.

In Sudur Paschim Province,

According to the District Representative of Doti, Basudev Joshi, people staying in the quarantine and isolation of Silgadi Municipality-8 Ladagada are not getting pure drinking water, informed a local Ganesh Saud. For proper drinking water, they are bringing water from Sinebhawar stream. According to the Mayor Manju Malasi, for supply of pure drinking water, the municipality ha managed tractors and fire-brigades as well but it is still not enough for everyone.
