Two injured in a clash between police and locals

At least two people were injured in a clash between police and locals at Athrai village council on April 7. The injured were 55 years old Santa Bahadur Karki and  armed police constable Deep Raj Rai. They are undergoing treatment at local health post.

Police used five cells of tear gas and after the demonstrators attacked Area Police Office. The victim’s party and locals had attacked the police post after 18 years old Sarita Tamang whose postmortem report came out as a suicide.

The dead body of Tamang was recovered on March 28 from her room in Buki. Her body was hanging and the nature of her death does not look like a suicide according to the victim’s family. They were in a demonstration in front of the police post for fair investigation when the clash started.
