Two arrested on charge of child trafficking: five girls rescued

Police have arrested 24 years old Bikash Pyakurel of Likhu Rural Municipality-4 and 16 years old boy on charge of attempting to traffick five girls of Likhu Rural Municipality-3. They were charged under the child trafficking act according to the police. The accused boy was arrested on November 10 and Pyakurel on November 11.

District Police Office said that the victims were taken to Surkhet with the intention of trafficking on November 8.

They were rescued from the house of Nirmal BK of Bheriganga Municipality-12, Chinchu based on a verbal complaint lodged by the victim’s family according to inspector Raja Ram Khadka of DPO Nuwakot.

All rescued girls were sheltered at Women and Children Service Centre at the moment according to the police. The incident is under the investigation.
