Tiwari’s Health Condition Deteriorating

The health condition of Bikash Tiwari, chairperson of Nepal Sadbhawana Party(Gajendrabadi) , who has been staging hunger-strike since 15 days demanding the reformation of Gajendra Narayan Zonal Hospital at Rajbiraj is  deteriorating.

Tiwari is on hunger strike since November 7 within the hospital premises. He has repeatedly demanding the investigation of hospital’s irregularities and formation of higher level investigation committee in presence of leaders from civil society.

Students from Rajbiraj College has demonstrated supporting Tiwari. They said that the demonstration is to pressurize government to address his demands.

Meanwhile, NHRC has released press statement on December 7 and urged government to sit for the dialogue and save his life.

The hospital was established in 1971 with 50 beds however the patients are referred to other hospitals in Dharan and Biratnagar due to the lack of doctors, nurses, staff and essential equipment.

Patients in crisis after cleaning Staffs comes into agitation

The contracted cleaning staffs at Gajendra Narayan Hospital have continued their agitation from December 5.

They are in agitation against the hospital’s administration for not listening to their demands. They are in agitation with five points demand. They have been demanding for permanent job, salary as per government scale, uniform, shelter and free medicine services.

Patients are facing difficulties as the hospital and its surrounding environment is getting polluted after the cleaning staffs are in agitation.
