Stress given on unity among Human Rights activists to minimize their risk

Murari Kharel, regional director of NHRC, Nepalgunj, stressed on unity among the human rights activists in order to minimize their risk.

He expressed hi view while speaking at an interaction program organized in Dailekh regarding the Human Rights situation and challenges of HRDs of the district on October 26. The program was jointly organized by INSEC mid-western regional office and NHRC Nepalgunj. He added that project oriented rights activists are not a real activists.

Speaking at the program mid-western regional coordinator Bhola Mahat of INSEC said that the nature of violation has been changed at present as compared to conflict era violence.

Dil Kumari Chand, chairperson of Women empowerment Forum said that most of the cases are being hostile after reaching to the court as there are no shelters to protect the victims of women violence.

The participants of the program said that the activists are insecure in the district especially after the operation of anti-child marriage campaign in the district.


Bir Bahadur Bhandari, chairperson of senior citizens society said that the allowances should be distributed in an easy way and further added that special services should be provided to the senior citizen for their access in hospital and transportation.
