Stakeholders Stressed on fair Observation

The stakeholders in one program stressed that observers must act fair during the scheduled local level election on June 28.

The program was organized by NHRC regional office of Biratnagar in coordination of INSEC regional Office of Biratnagar and NEOC. During the interaction program, the stakeholders stressed that the observers must show their fairness during the election observation as some observers are seen to be supporting the candidate during  the observations. They also said that it must be de-motivated on this second phase of election.

They stressed that it is necessary for observers to coordinate on the issue of emergency rescue committee, mobile team and security of observation.

The participants of the program stressed that separate common secretariat must be established for election update on the election day  and during ote counting process.

During the program, the stakeholders said that observers must do their observation in other polling stations where they cannot vote. At the same time they suggested observers to be secured during the observation.

Speaking at the program, NEOC chairperson Trilok Neupane said that the observers must be cautious about their own security along with the fair observation. Regional director of NHRC Jhankar Rawal of Biratnagar said that the team from the NHRC will observe in all districts during election.

Similarly, FNJ central member Ganesh Lamsal and District chairperson Bandhu Pokhrel said that the journalists are giving updates news regarding the election and recommended that security of the journalists must be taken into consideration.
