Second-phase of local election postponed for June 23
The second-phase of local election which was slated for June 14 has been rescheduled for June 23, Friday according to RSS source.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar today has decided to postpone the second-phase local election for June 23 with the objective of making the parties which did not participate in the first-phase local elections participate in the second-phase election, Minister for Information and Communications, and government spokesman, Surendra Kumar Karki, said.
“It has been said that the second phase election would be organized on June 23 taking into consideration especially the Muslim holy festival of Ramjan. This proposal will be taken in the Legislature-Parliament for discussions,” he said.
Similarly, the Cabinet meeting today passed the particulars of the income and expenditure for the fiscal year 2017/18.
