A joint team from INSEC and KIOS has monitored Udayakharka Secondary School in Chapagaun, Lalitpur on May 10.
INSEC has supported the school situated at Godavari Municipality-10 by making child-friendly toilet and distributed computers and smart board in coordination with KIOS.
A discussion was made regarding services received and its impact after the support. The discussion was conducted with school administration, management and child rights awareness group representatives.
Speaking at the discussion program, INSEC executive director Bijaya Raj Gautam committed to support children as along as resources is available.
Katija Ilppola, KIOS south asia expert, expressed happiness to know that chldren are benifitted by this support. She added that the place has been transformed since she had her last visit four years ago. She added that a small support have made a huge impact among the children.
School principal Uddhav Khatri expressed his gratitude for the support and expected further support in coming future.
Vice chair of Udaya Kharka Child Rights awareness group , Binita Pariyar said that after the construction of toilet, female children are able to study in school even during their menstrual period.
The monitoring team included executive Director Bijaya Raj Gautam of INSEC, Illpola from KIOS, Roja Ramtal of KIOS, Suvechya Khadka and Ramesh Prasad Timilsina from INSEC.
