SC upholds EC decision to invalidate Yadav’s candidacy
The Supreme Court today has upheld the Election Commission’s decision to invalidate the candidacy of Shiba Pujan Yadav registered from Saptari for the House of Representatives election. Yadav filed his candidacy from the leftist alliance quoting RSS source.
A division bench comprising judges Deepak Raj Joshi and Dambar Bahadur Shahi endorsed the EC move regarding the Yadav’s candidacy.
In response to a complaint filed at the EC against the candidacy of Yadav, convicted of misuse of the diplomatic passport by the Special Court, the EC on November 27 declared his candidacy filed from the Sarlahi constituency-4 invalid.
Yadav on November 28 moved the SC, demanding an interim order against the EC move.
