SC asks for clarification on civil servants’ deprivation to cast vote
The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday asked the government and Election Commission to furnish written clarification within 15 days on failure to arrange the civil servants to cast their vote in the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections according to RSS.
A single bench of Justice Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai also summoned the government and the EC to attend a meeting to be organised on November 5 wherein the matter is scheduled to discuss. The government and the EC are named as defendants.
Bharat Kumar Mainali of the Office of Attorney General had filed a writ petition on October 30, demanding that government officials be granted their right to vote.
