Rights Activist Appeals to make Election peaceful
The Human Rights Community has condemned the repeated incident of attack and ambush on Maoist Center candidate in various places of the nation during their election campaign.
“Election is the backbone of democracy. Disrupting the rights to vote of citizens and obstructing the election campaign of candidate by terrifying them is against democracy. It will strengthen the anti-democratic power. We would like to urge concerned authority to immediately stop such deeds”, the press statement released by the activists says.
Such incident is against the norms of fundamental human rights and UDHR.
The activists through a press statement has urged to ensure the safety of candidates and create an environment where voters can confidently vote.
Activists, Charan Prasai, Kapil Shreths, Subodh Raj Pyakurel, Kanak Mani Dixit, Pradeep Pokhrel, Rajan Kuikel, Surya Bahadur Adhikari, Indra Aryal, Babu Ram Giri, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Bhawani Kharel, Lili Thapa, Suman Adhikari, Ganesh Mandal, Sarita Gautam, Geeta Neupane, Pushpa Raj Paudel and Shiva Bisankhe have signed the press release and urged government to create peaceful environment for election.
