Rice shortage in Bajura
There is a shortage of rice in Bajura district along with the beginning of the financial year. The shortage came after the rice could not be transported to the district after the road section at Martadi, Sanphe was obstructed due to the incessant rainfall.
Nepal Food Cooperation, Bajura said that in the financial year 2017/18, 10,000 quintal of rice was allocated for the district however only half of it was received. This year, there will be food crisis in the district as rice could not be delivered on time.
In the food depot at Martadi, there are only 150 quintals of rice and 30 quintals of wheat in stock. In the month of August, 180 quintals of rice and wheat has already been sold.
