Rape Accused Arrested
Police have arrested Ramesh Pakhrin (30) of Shivapuri Rural Municipality-5 and Bhupesh Ghaley (36) of Likhu Rural Municipality-1 on August 8 from Kathmandu’s Budhanilkantha Municipality-8. The duo was arrested on the charge of raping a 37-year-old woman.
The victim was raped on March 15, 2020 after which the accused had also looted her jewelleries and cash. The accused had absconded and on August 9, they were arrested and presented at the district court. The accused are now in judicial custody, informed Inspector Bishnu Hari Phunyal to INSEC representative.
The complaint was filed on March 16, 2020 at the District Police Office and her health checkup was conducted on the same day.
