The meeting held in Ministry cabinet on August 30 in Singhadurbar has decided to hold provincial and House of Representative election on November 26 and December 7.
Prior to this, the meeting held on August 21 by the ministry cabinet had decided to hold both election in one phase on November 26.
The government spokesperson and information minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that the decision was based on the recommendation from the Election Commission.
The decision to hold election in two phases came out when the Election Commission was demanding the government for the necessary law essential to hold two elections.
The commission had urged the government to provide necessary act within August 21 and area determination report within August 31. However, the necessary act needed for the election is still pending due to the dis agreement between the political parties.
First phase of Election in 31 District
The government has decided to hold first phase of provincial and house of representative election in 31 districts on November 26.
Commission’s assistant secretary Nawa Raj Dhakal said that the first phase of election will be held in hilly districts. However, the government has not announced the name of the district and provinces.
