Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) releasing a press statement on September 22 stated, it is very sad that Ganga Maya is still not getting justice even after the death of her husband Nana Prasad Adhikari two years ago in a process of hunger strike demanding for the justice. Today is his second anniversary of death.
The press release signed by INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel has demanded the government to provide justice to Ganga Maya and make an arrangement for the final rites of her husband Nanda Prasad Adhikari.
“Adhikari couple were in indefinite hunger strike since 2013 February 4 .During the process, Nanda Prasad died and Ganga Maya continued her stand demanding for the justice”, said release.
The release stated that Chitwan court had taken Ganga Maya’s statement and in that statement she had clearly said that her son’s killing was not related to the conflict incident but motivated by personnel dispute.
“ It seems like the government is also trying to kill justice along with the death of Nanda Prasad”, the statement said. It has further alerted government that this incident has drawn international concerns. If they are denied justice in Nepal, it might attract international jurisdictions as well.
INSEC said that the situation of dumping Nanda Prasad’s body in one box inside the hospital since two years has shown the government’s apathy in providing justice.
INSEC has demanded to provide justice to the victim and make an arrangement for the final rites of Nanda Prasad Adhikari’s body.
