Political parties shows collective commitment to implement code of conduct

The major political parties have collectively committed to implementing the election code and making the election management smooth as per RSS source

The main leaders of the big political parties signed on a commitment paper after attending the Election Commission’s discussion on election preparations, security arrangement, code of conduct, and voters’ education.
The commitment paper reads, “We internalize the fact that we have the leading role on smooth management of the local level election the country is holding by bearing in mind that the election is the foundation of democracy; and free, fair and credible election contributes to good governance with the consolidation of democracy and strengthening of governance.”
The first round of the local level election is being held in Province No 3, 4, ad 6 on May 14.
“We want to express commitment that we remain active by heart, by words and by deed, to follow and make the stakeholders follow the determined commitment”, underscores the commitment letter.
Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy leader of CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party, Subas Nembang, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Nepal Democratic Forum, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Buddhiman Tamang, Coordinator of the Naya Shakti Nepal, Dr Baburam Bhatatrai, Federal Socialist Party leader, Rajendra Shrestha, signed the commitment letter.
It has been believed that the commitment letter presented by the Election Commission and signed by the top leaders has helped to create election friendly environment.
