Candidacy nomination Process held peacefully

The candidacy nomination process in 14 districts assigned for June 18 has been conducted successfully despite of few incidents.

In Saptari and Siraha under the province number 2, the election related activities has been minimized after the date of election has been postponed. The general strike in these two districts has affected the lives of the people. The schools, industry and business has been affected by the strike.

According to the Jhapa district representative Kokila Dhakal, the process of candidacy nomination in Ilam district has been operated peacefully. In 10 local level of the district, Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, CPN UML and Federal Socialist forum has registered their candidacy. Chief election officer Nawa Raj Dahal said that the nomination registration process was peaceful in the district. The whereabouts of 35 years old Narayan Rai, declared candidate from Maoist centre for the post of ward chairman in Ilam Municipality-12 is still unknown. He is missing since June 17 and the party has mobilized their cadres for his search.

According to Taplejung representative Dev Raj Gurung, the candidacy nomination process started in one municipality and eight village council from the morning. According to him, the nomination process was peaceful. The nomination registration time for the political parties was divided to avoid possible dispute and clash between them. Chief election office Ashok Kumar Basnet said that the nomination registration process was peaceful in the district. In Phaktanlung village council ward number 2, 35 years Patangwa Limbu, candidate for the post of ward chairman was abducted on the morning of June 18 however he was released later in the evening. According to CDO Nara bahadur Khadka, he was abducted by the cadres of Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand.

According to Morang district representative Indira Bhattarai, the candidate nomination registration process was operated with enthusiasm. Various parties have registered their candidacy.

There was no serious incident during the candidacy nomination. The RJP Nepal had made public about their general strike with the objective to obstruct the process however there were no incident during the process according to SP Sandeep Bhandary of DPO.

According to Sunsari district representative Shekhar Dhakal, the nomination process went very peaceful in the district. In all 12 local levels, the nomination registration was peaceful according to election officer Janaki Karna. The candidates reached to register the candidacy exuberantly.

According to the district representative Santosh Ruchal of Dhankuta, the process of nomination registration was very peaceful. In all seven local levels of the district, the political parties have registered their nomination according to District Election Office. However, the parties have used flags, T-Shirts and Cap against the election code of conduct.

According to Kiran Rai of Bhojpur, the candidacy nomination registration process was peace fully conducted in the district. The political parties have registered their nomination with enthusiasm in a peaceful environment.

In Bhojpur there are nine local levels including two municipalities and seven village council. The nomination process started from 8 am till 5 Pm.

There are 105553 voters in nine local levels  for the 423 post in Bhojpur. The process of nomination was peaceful in all nine local levels according to the election office.

In Shankhuwasabha, the nomination process was operated peacefully in the district. According to the District Police Office there were no serious incidents during the process. According to the chief election office  there are five municipalities and five village councils in the district and the nomination was peaceful. There are 96,662 voters with 103 polling stations and 147 polling centers.

According to Khotang district representative Sunita magar, during the nomination registration, a separate time was allocated to the candidates to avoid rush. The process was peaceful. In the district, 12 political parties have registered their nomination. There are 1,15,644 voters in the district.

According to the district representatives of Okhaldhunga, the nomination registration process was operated in one municipality and seven village councils of the district with enthusiasm. Police have arrested Bhakta Bahadur Katwal and Shyam Kumar Katwal of Loktantrik Forum in an inebriated state when they misbehaved some of the candidate during the registration process.
