One More Accused Arrested For Mass Murder At Brick Factory
Police have arrested Sheikh Saroj aka Sheikh Saraj (34) on 2 July 2020 in accusation of being involved in the mass murder that happened in the brick factory of Rautahat on 9 April 2008. The incident took place 13 years ago and 23 people were burned in a brick factory after being injured in a blast.
He was arrested on 2 July from Nepal-India border area, informed DSP Bharat Shrestha of District Police Office.
Saraj has stated of carrying 2/3 dead and 16 injured people in a tractor, stuffing them in sacks and taking them to the chimney of the brick factory and burning them, following the instruction of Congress Leader Aftab Alam, informed DSP Shrestha.
Saraj was presented to the district court on 3 July, informed the police. Aftab Alam known as the master mind behind the incident is in judicial custody.
Alam had instructed to prepare explosives in his uncle’s house to halt the Constitutional Assembly Election on 10 April 2008.
A fact finding report was presented by INSEC and other organisations on 7 May 2018.
