The Election Commission has said that the registration of candidacy nomination process for 136 local levels went peacefully in all eight districts under province number 2 apart from few incidents.
For the third phase of local level election in province number 2 on September 18, the registration of nomination was completed on September 6. The commission had started the process from 10 in the morning till five in the evening however, the process was extended till late. According to the commission until 7 Pm, 18,200 candidates have registered their candidacy.
Election commissioner Ila Sharma said that the nomination was peacefully held apart from few incidents in the district.
The major political parties and some independent candidates reached the election office with exuberant for the registration of their candidacy.
The third phase of local level election will be held on September 18 in eight districts under province number 2 for one Metropolis, three sub-metropolis, 73 Municipalities and 59 Rural Municipalities. In all local levels, 1271 wards have been maintained. In province number 2, there are 26,64,950 voters with 3578 polling centers and 2166 polling stations.
The election commission said that there are more than 31,000 volunteers mobilized for the election. His election will elect 6,627 representatives in local levels which was vacant for the last two decades.
