NHRC Urges to include Human Rights in manifesto
The union of former commissioners and former commissioner society has urged political parties to include human rights commitment, its protection and promotion in their manifesto.
After two days meeting in Kathmandu, the political parties were corresponded regarding the issue on October 31 according to the society.
Former commissioner Kedar Nath Upadhyaya of NHRC said that most of the political parties are busy on making their manifesto and they have been urged to include human rights commitment as one of their agenda in the manifesto.
The former commissioner’s society has urged while handing over the letter to political parties like CPN UML, NC, Maoist (Center), Federal Socialist Forum Nepal and RJP .
The former commissioner’s society said that NHRC has responsibilities of protecting , promoting of human rights based on Paris principle and represents the human rights issues in an international arena.
