NHRC to remain open during festivals
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said its central, provincial and sub-regional offices would remain open during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath holidays.
In a statement on Monday, NHRC Secretary Bed Prasad Bhattarai said that the commission has made arrangements to keep the offices open from 11 am to 2 pm during the holidays so as to allow the people to register their complaints about the human rights violation.
The human rights body said it decided to remain open during the holidays keeping in mind the protection and promotion of human rights of people in the country.
Furthermore, the Commission also said that it was ready for emergency monitoring in case of serious human rights violations.
