NHRC is confident on protection and promotion of Human Rights
National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed its gratitude and greetings after Nepal is elected as a member in United Nation’s Human Rights Council.
The commission while releasing a press statement on October 17 expressed its gratitude on government diplomatic initiation and all supporting members of United Nations.
Commission’s spokesperson Mohana Ansari said that the presence of Nepal in Human Rights council will contribute to end prevailing impunity in the country.
“ The presence of Nepal in the Human Rights Council will help for its respect and protection along with the implementation of past recommendations by the NHRC for its protection and promotion’, the statement said.
Human Rights Council is a United Nation’s body which is engaged in protecting and promoting Human Rights globally. Nepal has been elected as its member from 2018-2020.
