NGOs must be transparent and accountable: Chairperson Pyakurel
INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel stressed that the NGOs engaged in social sector must be transparent and accountable.
He added that the NGOs engaged in the development of society must be aware on transparency of what they do. He expressed his views while speaking at the interaction program organized in joint collaboration by INSEC with USAID and FHI 360 on December 21 in Kathmandu.
He said that it is important for the federation to prepare and discuss the legal draft with elected parliamentarians. Chairperson Gopal Lamsal of NGO federation said that it is important for the NGOs to transform themselves as there has been less popularity of NGO among the people.
He added that NGO must be transparent on what they do.
Kedar Khadka of GoGo Foundation said that NGO must not compromise on transparency and good governance for the development of society.
