Memorandum to CDO Urging to be sensitive on rape incidents
The human rights activists in Morang have handed over the memorandum to the Chief District Officer Ramesh KC urging to be sensitive in the issue of rape incidents. The memorandum was handed over by the representatives from NHRC, INSEC, and WOREC on August 23 to the CDO.
They said that there is no base for victimson getting justice giving the example of 14 years old girl whose complaint of rape was denied by the police administration to register when she personally present herself in the police station to lodged complaint.
INSEC provincial coordinator of province 1, Som Raj Thapa said that the memorandum was presented to the CDO tomake him more accountable in the case of rape as victims are losing hope on getting justice.
