The Citizens’ Campaign for Clean Election (CCCE) has organized an interaction program in Gaur on September 13.
Speaking at the program, INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that candidates with awareness and cleanliness are essential for fair election. He further added in context of Nepal, voters are aware however candidates’ could not be clean.
Chairperson Pyakurel said that fighting with each other based on for certain caste, community and geography is dangerous for the country. He further showed his frustration saying that none of the political parties are following the code of conduct.
Another speaker Indra Aryal, co-chairperson of CCCE and Chairperson of HURON highlighted the importance of periodic election. He added that whatever be the objective of the election, democracy is always linked with it and accused state of failing to enforce election code of conduct. The participants of the program highlighted about the political parties failing to follow election code of conduct.
The program was participated by members of civil society, media personnel, lawyers and election observers.
