INSEC urges to protect health rights of people
Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) has drawn its serious attention on the incident of disruption of health services as a result of an agitation by doctors stating that their demands are not addressed by the government.
“The nationwide indefinite strike called on by Nepal Medical Association (NMA) protesting against the government’s decision on making law to compensate doctors involved in a death of a patients during negligent treatment has deprived patients from receiving health services”, the press released by INSEC on September 25 stated.
The medical association however has made clear that their strike will continue until the immediate law of imprisoning those who abuses doctors is not made. The press released signed by INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel has asked Nepal Medical Association ad GoN to solve the issue through dialogue and urged NMA to maintain its professional discipline by bearing responsibility towards the lives of thousands of people as the strike has risked the loves of people and deprived their rights to health services.
