Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) has publicized the House of Representative, Provincial Assembly and local level by- elections monitoring report on December 6. The elections were held on November 30.

The report is based on the data and statistics collected by INSEC representatives and the monitoring done during the by- elections by INSEC provincial offices.

“INSEC monitors and records the activities related to the election, from the date of implementation of the election code of conduct until the election results are out,” the report said.

According to the report there has been 32 cases of violation of code of conduct among them 15 cases comprises of the violations done by the political parties themselves. The report also points out the violation in five cases by election office itself.

“Even though the law conferred on the Election Commission the right to take action against the violation of code of conduct, its implementation was very weak. The Commission seemed disintegrated in the investigation and action even though there was a provision for filing complaints against the code of conduct violators. ”- thed report states.

INSEC has drawn the commission’s attention to such activities in the coming days, saying the code of conduct will be effective if the commission is to act efficiently and effectively.
